“Orange and White Cat”

“Orange and White Cat” is a painting inspired by my love of cats and the seven felines who currently own my house! This particular cat turned out looking a lot like one of our dearly departed pets named Spanky. He was a beautiful, big long-haired cat with a laid back personality.

Original acrylic painting on 16 x 20 inch stretched canvas. Unframed. Signed by the artist.

Original and is for sale. Contact me for more information.

“Canadian Warbler”

Canadian Warbler on easel

“Canadian Warbler” is an original acrylic painting on a miniature 2.5 x 2.5 inch stretched canvas. The canvas is backed with a magnet, so the painting can be displayed either on an easel or on a metal surface.

I love working with these small canvases. They lend themselves so well to subjects such as small birds. They are also popular with customers. I have a lot of fun with them and plan to do more, maybe with different subjects.

“Pink and Purple Abstract”

This abstract painting is a fun and pretty image with pink and purple color variations. There are combinations of bright and dark tones, along with layers and texturing. It’s interesting to look into it and decide what you see in the random pattern of colors. This would make a great accent piece.

“Ethereal Dancer”

“Ethereal Dancer” is a hauntingly beautiful scene capturing a ghostly ballerina in blue. Wisps of the ether swirl around her as she dances to an eternal melody.

This painting is a step outside my usual landscape paintings. I wanted to challenge myself and do something different and unique. A photo of a ballerina created the idea for the beginnings of this painting. And as I painted, I saw that by using a limited palette I could create the mood I was looking for. I enjoyed painting this piece and it showed me that I need to broaden my horizons as an artist.

“October Road”

“October Road” is an image of a rural Ozarks country road as the autumn leaves come into full color. We have always had beautiful fall foliage here in the Ozarks. The charm of local fall festivals, craft fairs and pumpkin patches is an added bonus to my favorite time of year here in Missouri.

“Book Lounge”

“Book Lounge” is a fun painting I did as a commission for a friend. She and I both love books and cats, so her request was a black cat with a white heart on it’s chest with some books. This image takes it inspiration from several photos I found looking for painting references. Knowing the quantity of books she owns, I’m quite sure this is pretty accurate!

Acrylic on 16 x 20 inch stretched canvas. Unframed. Signed by the artist.

Original is sold.  Prints are available upon request.  Commissions will be considered.

“Stargazing on Earth 2.0”

“Stargazing on Earth 2.0” was painted as a gift for my husband. His birthday is July 4th and I wanted to do something special and unique for him. I had done paintings for other family and friends, but never for my husband. He loves to stargaze and contemplate the wonders of the universe. Even though space travel is not a common place thing for the human race as of yet, he would love to be one of the first in line to board an exploration spaceship  He enjoys watching television shows and movies such as Star Trek and Star Wars that weave stories about adventures in the stars. So what better painting to do than a beautiful night sky view from an alien planet? It took me awhile to complete, but it’s finally ready to hang. Happy Birthday, Dwayne!

“Tuscan Sunrise”

“Tuscan Sunrise” is an original acrylic painting on 12 x 24 inch stretched canvas.  The image was inspired by a beautiful photo I found when searching for a new computer wallpaper background. I have always wanted to visit Italy to see the amazing architecture, visit the countryside and sample the local cuisine ( I love Italian food!).

“Salvia Flower Garden”

“Salvia Flower Garden” is an experimental use of a more impressionistic style. The image is a suggestion of pink and purple salvia flowers. I like the freedom impressionism gives the artist.  There is not the need to spend so much time being intent on getting the details right. The looser painting style brings just a suggestion of the image. The viewer can fill in the details as they wish.

“Salvia Flower Garden” is an acrylic painting on 8 x 8 inch stretched canvas.
